Walk Kuala Lumpur 2009
“Walk Kuala Lumpur” is a walking treasure hunt that is organised in conjunction with the Green Lifestyle campaign to encourage KLites to adopt a Green Lifestyle by walking instead of driving for short distance journey especially during working hours for lunch, dinner and meetings. This event was held on the 3 October 2009 and the event was flagged off by the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Yang Berhormat Tan Sri Joseph Kurup.
A total of 60 teams participated in the hunt. A sea of treasure hunters all dressed in green flooded the streets of Jalan P. Ramlee to Bukit Bintang from 3pm to 6.30pm answering questions and decrypting clues given to them. There were many first time hunters in this walk and it proved to be a fun albeit challenging experience for all of them.
The answers were revealed at 7.30pm by the clerk of Course Michael Pang and was met with thunderous groans, screams and laughter from the excited and exhausted hunters at The Podium. Team Busting Kneecaps comprising Claire Chin,Lily Goh,Goh Teck Koon and Teoh Cheow Teong emerged as winners and went home with a 32″ Panasonic LCD TV. Not to be left out, a special lucky draw was held among the loosing teams with winners being the lucky recipients of a RM150 Crocs Voucher each.
